The Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/othrdata/chekbird/chekbird.htm This site maintains checklists for birds found in individual geographic areas of the United States and Canada. You simply identify the state, and location you are interested in, and a printable checklist is displayed giving all of the wild birds found in the area. The species are ranked on abundance (common, occasional or rare) and the time of year they are found (year round, winter, summer). The Patuxent Bird Identification InfoCenter http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/id/framlst/infocenter.html This site is a presentation of photographs, songs, videos, identification tips, maps and life history information for North American birds. Also included is taxonomy information and a glossary of terminology. This is very complete and educational site. The National Bird Feeding Society The National Bird Feeding Society maintains a very informative and interesting site. There is a great deal of information here and it is very well organized. Please visit this site and consider becoming a member. The Ornithology Web Site This site has lots of great information. Some areas of interest are the articles, photographs and research. Also included is a chat room and an area for pen pals. The Bird Watchers Digest http://www.birdwatchersdigest.com/ The Bird Watchers Digest is an excellent publication for anyone who is interested in any aspect of birding or bird feeding. Their web site is full of current and topical information and offers many birding related items for sale. The site also offers many links to other birding related sites on the Internet.
